Jamie Foxx is set to receive the Generation Award at the upcoming MTV Movie Awards.
The Django Unchained star will be recognized for “distinguishing himself not just in a variety of movie genres, but in a variety of mediums, including film, music and television,” according to MTV. Past recipients include Johnny Depp, Reese Witherspoon, Sandra Bullock, Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Mike Myers, Tom Cruise and Jim Carrey.
Foxx, is also nominated in the “Best Male Performance” category for his role as the former slave turned bounty hunter, Django, in the Quentin Tarantino flick.
The 45-year-old actor is working on an upcoming film alongside Channing Tatum in White House Down, which tells the story about a Capitol policeman saving his child and the president from invaders. The film hits theaters June 28.
