Benjamin (pictured), a 40-year-old prophet/pastor, faced Aba North Chief
Magistrates’ Court in Abia on August 6, 2013, and was charged with
‘homosexual activity’.
Benjamin,
whose church is located at 89 Ukaegbu Road, Ogbor Hill, is accused of
having carnal knowledge of a
man against the order of nature.
Cpl.
Galadima Rubies, the Prosecutor of this case told the court that the
accused committed the offence at Ogbor Hill in Aba on July 28.
According
to him, Benjamin sodomised a man’s son, 23, identified as Ndukwe.
Benjamin has allegedly slept with the 23-year-old victim for seventeen
times since he engaged him as his sex partner.
“A complaint was lodged by a man that Benjamin had a carnal knowledge of his son and the police immediately arrested him.”

Rubies added that the offence contravened Section 214 (1) of the
Criminal Code, Laws of Abia 2005, under which the accused may be
sentenced to 14 years’ imprisonment on conviction.
However, Benjamin pleaded not guilty to the charge and was granted bail in the sum of N200,000 with a surety in like sum.
Magistrate K.I. Udo said the surety should be resident within the court’s jurisdiction as part of the bail conditions.
The case has been adjourned till September 9 for further hearing.
